Labor Day 2009

We're trying to make it a tradition to spend Labor Day with the Lansings and the McAllisters from now on. We've been with the Lansings in 2009 and in 2008, at Lake Gaston. Karisa was there this year, along with Benson, Kira and Heidi, Tyson and her parents. I think this next year is our turn to host. I love these wonderful friends who inspire me to stretch and reach a little beyond my reach for good things, just by being around them because they're such wonderful people.

I love that we all love to run and try and do this when we get together!

So Long, Farewell Soeur...Adieu to You and You and...

My little sister is currently in the Missionary Training Center our church has to prepare missionaries to go out and serve all over the world. She's learning French for two months, at least the basics and enough to get around Belgium, she'll learn the rest from her assigned companion and the people once she gets there. She is also called as a medical care specialist, she was previously in nursing school with one semester left, so she's receiving lots of training to trouble shoot medical problems that might come up with other missionaries there in Belgium. Here are so photos of the send off with family and friends before she left, about six weeks ago. We'll sure miss her for this year and a half but we're so proud of her and excited for all that awaits her!

Big talk.

Until now I've limited my verbalization to screaming at the top of my lungs and grunting. Now I am trying out some new words and it just sends chills up my Mom's and Dad's spines when I say the tiniest thing. The other day we were at the park swinging and I picked up on everyone saying "whoooo" so I started trying it as I was flying through the air. You have to listen real closely for my little voice. When it comes to talking, I'm a little shy and unsure how things are going to come out, so I stick to being cautious. I also tried to say "Whoa" and maybe even "uh-oh." It's hard to say. I heard Mom talking about the ducks at Lake Mohegan and I looked around for them, pointed and later said "guckie."
Mom's going to try and get Dad to post a video later.
