Biting the Bullet

Our Ukranian and New Yorker pals, smiling because we're suckers and, I like to think, because they genuinely liked us. They were taking pictures too and Menny showed us a picture of his girlfriend, a horse? That's the new car behind us and that's where we bought it, on the side of that busy Brooklyn street. Can't wait to tell this one to the posterity some day:)

Until recently we've been a one car family. We survived as such for four years, and let's be honest, Kevin was the one doing most of the sacrificing, riding the bus or his bike to school, which was luckily only about a mile (uphill though!) away. He did have several rotations at St. Mary's, which was tricky since several of the bridges crossing the 64/40 had been blasted during construction. So he would walk to the bus stop, ride for about 45 minutes to an hour and then walk a little over a mile to get to the hospital, all at 5:30 a.m. Needless to say, we're glad he wasn't shot and SOOOO grateful he was willing to do this fairly often when he was on these rotations so we could get out of the apartment and keep from going crazy. We're also grateful those days are over:) And I think it's fair to say he's pretty excited to have his car back! I am going to miss picking him up everyday. But I think we'll manage, and find some other time to bond. Any ideas for a name? She's gray. Maybe "Bagera," like from the Jungle Book, or even just "The Soccer Mom."

Congratulations on the new wheels! You're driving my dream car.

You could name her Paddy, short for paddy wagon.
